Teach Abroad Opportunities

Teaching English abroad continues to be a very popular route for students and graduates looking to gain international experience.

And the good news is there are plenty of opportunities in this area, here are a few exciting ones coming up.

Teach Abroad Scholarship - offered by the English Language Centre, which is a social enterprise, and aimed primarily at unemployed graduates, although undergraduates are also eligible and final year students are particularly welcome. To apply you need to send your CV and covering letter stating why you want to teach abroad and why you should receive full scholarship.
Deadline for applications is 31st March 2015 at 5 p.m. 

Teach English in ChinaTeach English in China is an international paid work-travel programme with a difference. No extra training is required, all that is needed is that you are a graduate, a native English speaker and complete their language training programme. If you are not a native English speaker but speak English fluently you may also be eligible. English language learning has been given more emphasis in this fast changing country; be part of this important change. Applications are being accepted until end of June 2015. 

TEFL in Prague - a fully accredited TEFL course being offered by Smaller Earth at a top academy in Prague, and also a chance to explore all that the city has to offer... Study, work and play all in one!

Teaching Placements in India

British Council have launched an exciting new programme called Generation UK- India. Through a series of placements, you will gain a truly amazing insight into Indian education, business and culture and gain a global experience that will take your career to another level.

Starting in July or October 2015 you can spend two or six months as a teaching assistant in an Indian school.
As a teaching assistant, you will support teaching across the school, including the teaching of English. You will be doing this with at least one other assistant from the UK. You will also get involved with extra-curricular activities and international projects, bringing a slice of the UK to your pupils.
Applications are currently open and deadline is Thursday 26th February 
To be eligible you need to be
  • At least 18 years old at the age of applying
  • Hold a UK passport (or have completed all your secondary and higher education in the UK)
  • Native English speaker 
  • Completed at least one year of higher education. This opportunity is also open to people who have graduated.
  • A permanent address in the UK – you may need to provide proof of this address.
